The 2020 MTN DEW 3-Point Contest for All-Star Weekend reportedly has its first participant, as Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers is expected to compete, per Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.

In addition to tossing his hat in the ring for 3-Point Contest victory honors, Lillard also found out Thursday that he would be suiting up Sunday for the NBA All-Star Game as well. Lillard has now been named to the game in each of the past three seasons.

Entering play Thursday, only James Harden of the Rockets has attempted more threes on a nightly basis during the season than Lillard. At 9.9 shots from behind the arc, Lillard is on pace to smash his previous career high, as he has managed to knock down 3.8 of those looks per contest. The 38.5 percent that he has shot from long range over his first 46 games puts him on track for his best single-season output since the 2013-14 year when he was first named an All-Star.

In addition to his three-point prowess, Lillard is having a career year, even as the Blazers scuffle to find their rhythm in a crowded Western Conference. Now a five-time All-Star, he is on pace to set new career bests in scoring (29.0), assists (7.8) and free throws made (7.1) per game, as well as field-goal percentage (45.6 percent).

Lillard first took part in the three-point proceedings in 2014, going on to see Marco Belinelli claim the trophy. He got back into the action last year, just to see Joe Harris of the Nets snipe the win away.
