Portland Trail Blazers superstar point guard Damian Lillard admits he was upset people tried to make it seem like he and Russell Westbrook hated each other.

The Blazers and Oklahoma City Thunder met in the first round of the 2019 playoffs, and Lillard and Westbrook went at it. Both stars trash-talked each other and made it seem like they didn't like one another.

Lillard, though, says that wasn't the case and he and Westbrook are cool off the court.

“I respect him a lot. He respect me a lot,” Lillard told Omar Raja of House of Highlights. “I was disappointed that people tried to make it a dislike-type of rivalry because me and Russ is actually cool. I don't have a problem with him. He don't have a problem with me.”

Both Damian Lillard and Russell Westbrook are two of the fiercest competitors we have in the game.

On the basketball court, neither point guard is going to be friendly with anyone. Off the court, though, the All-Stars are regular people.

The Blazers defeated the Thunder in five games. Lillard scored 50 points in Game 5 and hit the iconic series-winning 3-pointer over Paul George. Dame averaged 33.0 points per game in the series.

Westbrook is now on the Houston Rockets. Games between the Blazers and Rockets are going to be very entertaining next season.
