Blazers point guard Damian Lillard has established himself as one of the best players in today's NBA. The former No. 6 overall pick has a plethora of tricks in his proverbial bag, including excellent court vision, crafty ball handling skills, and a deadly shot from range. He's not just a one-man band, though. In fact, Evan Turner says Lillard is “the best franchise dude” he's ever been around.

Via Jason Quick of The Athletic:

“We’ve had countless conversations about this,” Turner said of Lillard. “He says he knows he can do whatever on the court, but he says it won’t be fun unless he is able to bring people with him and help them as much as possible. And I just think that’s the realest thing ever.”

Lillard, now 28 years of age, is known as a killer on the court. However, he's much more than a great ball player. He's also extremely approachable. In fact, Lillard tries to answer every question after every game, regardless of his performance. Furthermore, he's made several connections with Blazers fans who are suffering from various ailments.

“I’m telling you, the most genuine thing about him is he cares,” Turner added. “I’ve been around a lot of franchises, and I always say he is the best franchise dudes I’ve ever been around.”

Lillard is off to a great start to the 2018-19 season. Through his first five games played, the three-time All-Star has racked up averages of 33.8 points on 49.1 percent shooting from the field (38.6 percent from beyond the arc), 6.6 assists, and 6.0 rebounds in 35.8 minutes per outing.

Lillard and the Blazers will be back in action on Monday night, when they'll travel to Indiana for a match-up against the Pacers. Tip-off inside Bankers Life Fieldhouse is set for 7:00 p.m. EST.
