Evan Turner of the Portland Trail Blazers is the first bench player in NBA history to notch a perfect triple-double.

Per NBA.com/Stats, in Portland's 132-122 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday, Turner came off the bench and shot a perfect 5-of-5 from the field. He finished the game with 13 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists.

Turner, the second overall draft pick in 2010, hasn't developed into the superstar many expected him to be. In college, he won every accolade imaginable and was tagged as one of the top prospects in the draft.

In the NBA, Turner struggled to build on his success in the college ranks. After spending three and a half seasons with the Philadelphia 76ers — the team which picked him — he was sent to the Indiana Pacers, then the Boston Celtics, and now the Blazers.

He is in his third year in Portland — a good sign that he has finally found a home. He didn't turn out to be the franchise player that he was expected to become. Yet, the fact that he is still in the NBA and is part of a team's rotation already speaks volumes about his basketball skill.

Evan Turner is nothing if not instrumental to his team's success this year. The Blazers currently hold the third spot in the competitive Western Conference, tied with the Houston Rockets at 49-28. Come playoff time, expect The Villain to elevate his game a notch.
