The infamous “Banana Boat Crew” of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony, and Chris Paul do have plenty of interesting stories to tell both on and off the court.

With the entire NBA on pause right now due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Wade and Anthony entertained their millions of fans through a live Instagram video on Friday.

The pair casually reminisced about the time they took a respite from basketball and had a well-deserved vacation at the Bahamas.

Melo then shared an unbelievable story about how he almost died on that trip and was saved by none other than LeBron James. Check out Melo's full story below.

The 10-time All-Star recalled how he jumped off the boat during their tour to take a better look at the island. Melo said the strong current took him in the middle of the ocean far away from their boat.

Just when he thought he was about to drown, Melo said LeBron jumped off the boat and brought him back with one arm.

“LeBron I appreciate that. You saved my life that day,” the 35-year-old forward said.

Prior to the league-wide suspension of games, LeBron James was leading the league in terms of dime-dropping at 10.6 per game. Pulling Melo out of the water might just be his biggest and most important assist yet.

After being left unsigned for almost a year, Anthony returned with a vengeance for the Blazers this season, notching 15.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 50 appearances.

Apart from taking a trip down memory lane, Melo and Wade also had fun at the expense of retired center Darko Milicic during their live video.
