With the Portland Trail Blazers currently on the outside looking in on the playoff spots in the Western Conference, Jusuf Nurkic has a very straightforward yet extremely accurate assessment about their postseason hopes.

According to Nurkic, it all boils down to one thing, or one person rather, in Blazers All-Star point guard Damian Lillard.

It's hard to argue with Jusuf Nurkic's statement here. After all, Lillard is one of the best players in the NBA today, and if there's anyone who could lead the Blazers to a late push for a playoff spot in the West, then it has to be him.

Portland entered the hiatus with a 29-37 record, which put them on the ninth spot in the conference. They are currently 3.5 games behind the eighth-seeded Memphis Grizzlies, who are currently the favorites to make the cut in the West.

Nevertheless, fans can be sure that the Blazers will be putting up a formidable fight for the final playoff spot in the West. Similar to the other 21 teams inside the bubble, Portland is scheduled to play eight seeding games to determine their final standing. Needless to say, every game will count for the Rip City franchise.

The return of Nurkic is certainly going to help Portland's cause. The big man has been able to recover from a lengthy injury spell on the sidelines, and he is expected to take part in the Blazers' opener against the Grizzlies.
