After suffering an ankle injury in their game versus the Washington Wizards on Tuesday, Jusuf Nurkic will miss his second consecutive contest on Monday, when the Portland Trail Blazers face off against the Golden State Warriors, according to Casey Holdahl of Blazers.com.

Although X-rays came out negative, Nurkic apparently needs to receive more treatment on it, while giving it an extended rest.

The injury bug has hit the Blazers hard, as they are also missing the services of Moe Harkless, which leaves them very thin up front. They are now left with Caleb Swanigan, Meyers Leonard, and Ed Davis to share the minutes for both the center and power forward positions.

Jusuf Nurkic has been playing very well this season so far, with solid averages of 15.1 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.0, assists and 1.3 blocks through 25 games. His absence will be a huge blow to the Blazers, who are currently struggling, and have lost four consecutive games.

With the results coming back negative, it’s still a good sign as Nurkic projects to be able to return soon. Should the Blazers continue to lose though, it can be expected that he will be asked to suit up in the next few days, and will be tasked to once again give his team a strong inside presence.
