Free agency has always been a big deal for players. To sign with a team that doesn't exactly fit one's capabilities and talents could mean the end of a career. Especially for Portland Trail Blazers' young center Jusuf Nurkić, who's slowly on the rise to become one of the top centers in the league. He recently shared his thoughts on his upcoming free agency.

As reported by Alex Kennedy of HoopsHype, the 23-year-old Nurkić is not too concerned about being a restricted free agent this summer. For him, he just wants to play ball and contribute to the team — any team that he's with:

“I don’t even think about it. I’m really only focused on Portland and the playoffs right now. In this league, business is business, but I just try to keep it simple: I’m going to hoop and let everybody else do their job.”

He's been in the league for five years, spending his first three with the Denver Nuggets. Despite his youth, he seems to have understood and accepted that anything can happen in the NBA. One day you'll be playing for this team. The next day you'll be playing with another. It's just how things are in the NBA. Permanence is only a myth.

Currently, he's the third option for the Blazers, next to their dynamic duo Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum. He's been a significant presence in the paint. He's logging in 14.3 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 1.8 assists. He's also been a defensive stopper, averaging 1.4 blocks per game.
