Klay Thompson altercation still nets Blazers’ Zach Collins plenty of hate mail from Warriors fans
It’s been over a year now since Portland Trail Blazers big man Zach Collins got into it with Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson during a heated battle between the Blazers and the Dubs last season. Nonetheless, it still remains fresh in the memory of Collins, who claims that to this day, he still receives some unpleasant messages from Warriors fan for this very incident.
“I got a lot of hate mail from Warriors fans,” Collins said, via Jamie Hudson of NBC Sports. “I still get it to this this day. It went on probably the rest of the year.”
It’s not as if the Blazers forward minds, though. As a matter of fact, Collins still cherishes this as his favorite trash-talking moment of his career.
“In that moment I probably said some things I shouldn’t have, but you know, I was in the moment, I was hyped. It was against the Warriors and everybody’s trying to beat them… We had been going on a run and I was just like, I didn’t care who it was — you were getting it that night if you came up to me,” Collins said with a smile.

We have to say, however, that the best bit of this clip is Draymond Green egging on the trash-talking. Green was probably just excited to see Thompson — who is more commonly known for his cool and calm demeanor — get into a heated exchange against the Blazers player.
