Portland Trail Blazers forward Moe Harkless will be out indefinitely, as he has to undergo arthroscopic surgery on his knee on Wednesday.

As reported by the Blazers on their website, the procedure will remove a loose body in his left knee. The timeline for his return and rehabilitation will be determined after the surgery.

For the season, Harkless has averaged 6.5 points, 2.7 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 0.81 steals and 21.4 minutes in 59 games with 36 starts.

Blazers fans can only guess how long will Moe Harkless be on the sidelines. Since it will involve a surgery, it is likely that he will be out for quite some time. The Blazers are safely in the playoffs. Currently, they are in third place in the tough Western Conference with the Oklahoma City Thunder two and a half games behind.

Though Harkless himself has not released a statement regarding the surgery, the 24-year-old has shared his displeasure of sitting on the bench during games. It is safe to conclude that he feels the same way, more so since he'll have to go under the needle.

As reported by Joe Freeman of Oregon Live, Harkless spoke about their game against the Phoenix Suns last January 16. The Blazers were desperate for a win yet Harkless was sitting there on the bench, itching to play:

“That probably was the most frustrated I'd been all season,” Harkless said. “If you look at the film of that game, I was really bad on the bench. I looked at it and I kind of took a look in the mirror after that. I was like, no matter what's going on, I can't be a bad teammate. These are still my guys.”
