The NBA has released the schedules for every team next season, which gives basketball fans a jolt of excitement before sending them back to a state of despair once they realized that the actual season is two months away. That’s quite a long wait.

In an attempt to appease their bored fanbase, the Portland Trail Blazers got creative (and historical) by revealing their schedule with the help of the old Oregon Trail video game.

The video runs almost three minutes long and takes the viewers to the realm of the 8-bit world for a journey from its season-opener game at home against the Los Angeles Lakers to several visits to NBA home courts around the country.

The Blazers have the longest travel in miles among all NBA teams next season. They are estimated to cover over 54,000 miles worth of road trip in the 2018-19 campaign, though, that’s 1,000 fewer than the length of total trek a season ago.

Hopefully, for the Blazers, they will be able to successfully traverse their schedule from beginning to end without anyone dying of cholera or resorting to cannibalism a la Donner Party while being caught in a savage winter.

The Blazers’ path will be led by the dynamic duo of C.J. McCollum and Damian Lillard.
