Denver Nuggets big man Paul Millsap becomes an unrestricted free agent this offseason and the Portland Trail Blazers are expected to pursue him, per Kevin O'Connor of The Ringer.

Millsap made $30 million in 2019-20 from the Nuggets, who lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference Finals in five games.

A four-time All-Star, Paul Millsap averaged 11.6 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists for the Nuggets in 2019-20. He shot 48.2 percent from the field, 43.5 percent from beyond the arc and 81.6 percent from the free-throw line.

In the 2020 playoffs, Millsap put up 8.0 points, 4.7 boards and 1.2 assists in 19 games against the Utah Jazz, Los Angeles Clippers and Lakers. He helped Denver become the first team in NBA history to erase two 3-1 series deficits in one playoff run.

The Blazers, who fell to the Lakers in the first round of the playoffs in five games, have a big decision to make with future Hall of Famer Carmelo Anthony, as he becomes an unrestricted free agent this offseason. While Anthony played well for the Blazers in the 2020 playoffs, his playing time and role could decrease if he comes back to Portland in 2020-21 since Trevor Ariza–who opted out of the NBA restart–will be back in the starting lineup.

If the Blazers signed Millsap, they could throw out a starting lineup of Damian Lillard, C.J. McCollum, Ariza, Millsap and Jusuf Nurkic.

It's going to be interesting to see what Millsap decides to do once free agency starts. He has career averages of 14.0 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists with the Jazz, Atlanta Hawks and Nuggets.
