The Portland Trail Blazers had signed Brandon Rush to give the team another guard and more shooting depth off the bench.

However, Rush never saw the floor during the ten-day period and the Blazers have decided to not resign him, according to Jason Quick of NBCS Northwest.

Blazers will not sign Brandon Rush to another 10-day contract. He has left the team. He did not see action with Portland.

Rush was selected by the Blazers in the 2008 draft but was shipped off on draft night along with Josh McRoberts and Jarrett Jack to the Indiana Pacers for Jerryd Bayless and Ike Diogu.

Rush hasn’t lived up to the potential that the Pacers hoped for when they traded for him in 2008, although he has been a serviceable shooter. In his career, he has averaged 22 minutes while putting up 6.8 points per game.

His best season in the league was in his second year when he played all 82 games and averaged 9.4 points per game and shot over 41 percent from 3-point distance.

Rush has suffered a lot of injuries including last year with the Minnesota Timberwolves when he played only in 47 games.

Rush is probably best known for his play during the 2008 season for the Kansas Jayhawks, a year they went on to win the National Title.

He didn't make as big of a shot as Mario Chalmers did to send the National Championship game into overtime but he did average 13.3 points per game during the season.

For Rush, it will be interesting to see if he will get another chance in the NBA. It has been a steady decline the last few years for the former Jayhawk star, and it might just be time for him to hang it up and focus on life after basketball.
