Evan Turner has always been known for his versatility. Throughout his NBA career, he’s able to contribute in a lot of aspects be it passing, scoring, or defending multiple positions. Now with the Blazers, Turner’s multi-faceted ways are set to be utilized again, as the team is already getting used to Turner oscillating between the point guard and small forward position.

According to Mike Richman of Oregon Live, the Blazers have already started laying out the groundworks for Evans’ unique role on the team.

“We're trying to,” Stotts said when asked about letting Turner guide the offense more often. “I mean, one of the things is to take advantage of his ball handling and make it a little less taxing for Dame and CJ. That's something we want to do better this year than we did last year.”

Portland already has Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum in the backcourt and Evans likely is just going to assume the point guard position to confuse opponents while taking away some of the pressure from the two guards.

Turner, who had seven points, two assists, and four rebounds in Tuesday's 114-112 loss to the Phoenix Suns, is on the second-year of his four-year contract with the Blazers. He played 65 games last year and posted averages of 9.0 points, 3.2 assists, and 3.8 rebounds. His career 29.8 percent shooting clip from the three-point area, however, is one chink in his armor that he needs to work on further.
