Rodney Hood had the right to veto any trade with the Cleveland Cavaliers, but the shooting guard says that was never an option when his agent told him the Cavs were in the process of sending him to the Portland Trail Blazers.

Hood is now on a Blazers team which is going to make the playoffs, and the lefty says he's very happy with his new squad.

“I mean, it’s been great,” Rodney Hood told Alex Kennedy of Hoops Hype. “It’s been like a breath of fresh air, to be honest, just to be welcomed by all the fans and everyone in the organization. They’ve welcomed me and my family with open arms.

“There’s been a lot to pick up on as far as the Xs and Os part since it’s still early. But as far as personalities go, I fit in with the guys and I think they’re excited about having me on the team. I’m excited for [our games] after the All-Star break and into the postseason.”

In four games with the Blazers, Hood is averaging 9.8 points while shooting 66.7 percent from the field, 50.0 percent from beyond the arc and 100 percent from the free-throw line.

Hood is a perfect fit in Portland. He can score off the dribble and is a knockdown shooter.

The 26-year-old gives the Blazers another scoring option off the bench, something that will help them once the playoffs start.
