The Portland Trail Blazers and point guard Seth Curry have agreed to a two-deal that will guarantee $2.75 million for the 2018-19 season, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Curry had missed the entire 2017-18 campaign due to a stress reaction of his left tibia last October that saw him undergo season-ending surgery in February due to the injury not healing properly. The Dallas Mavericks had their eyes on the 27-year-old making his return to the court by December, but there wasn't any progress made from the injury. The 27-year-old had been recently medically cleared from the injury that should allow him to participate fully in training camp and preseason.

He is coming off his most productive campaign where he had career highs across the board by averaging 12.8 points on 48.1 percent from the field along with 42.5 from beyond the arc with 2.6 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.1 steals in 29.0 minutes. He had also experienced an uptick in his performance as a starter, averaging 14.7 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game. This included dropping a career-high 31 points against the  Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Trail Blazers are likely pegging him to replace Shabazz Napier off the bench as the team isn't expected to present an offer to him as he's expected to be a restricted free agent. When healthy, Curry has proven to be a valuable asset off the bench that can stretch the floor with his shooting and playmaking ability.

He could provide more stability in the backcourt behind All-Star point guard Damian Lillard while giving them another ball-handler for the second unit on what should be a relatively inexpensive deal.
