Skip Bayless is the latest person to pick up beef with Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard, as his Monday morning segment was comprised of his lack of faith in “Dame Time.”

The controversial FOX Sports 1 personality isn't buying Lillard's exploits, even after the Blazers dynamo hung 51 points on the Philadelphia 76ers to bounce back from a loss to the Los Angeles Clippers the day before.

“I've been getting texts from Damian Lillard saying, ‘What have you done to challenge what I have done?'” Bayless read aloud on Tuesday's iteration of “Undisputed.” “Well, let's talk about that. I wanna talk-talk about it, not text-talk about it, and if I could face-to-face I would have done it at that moment.

“Within five seconds of me reading that text, I just hit that little dial sign and it rang his phone, so I called him because I don't run from any of that. You know my background, I've had dozens, if not hundreds, of battles with professional athletes in my many years in this business.”

Bayless didn't miss the opportunity to invite Lillard to the show, even though the Blazers are right in the thick of fighting for the eighth spot in the West and thousands of miles away in Orlando.

Nevertheless, Bayless said he and Lillard had a “heated” conversation when he turned the tables and asked him this question: “What have you done to be that type of spokesman for the league?”

Lillard accused Skip of “backpedaling,” and Bayless kind of hints why that may have been, as he excused his “scathing” commentary due to being in the midst of a pandemic and not fully sold on the NBA season continuing.

Basketball happens to be the sport that is actually thriving despite the coronavirus pandemic due to the success of the bubble system they've put in place. In fact, there have been zero positive cases for nearly a month.

That little detour is enough to make Lillard think Bayless was full of it and asking for mercy rather than “double down” as he says he did.

Is anyone else hoping their private conversation gets released as part of one of Damian Lillard's latest diss tracks?
