Portland Trail Blazers star point guard Damian Lillard could once again find himself in a tight spot vying for a spot on the All-Star rosters.

Despite that, head coach Terry Stotts believe the 27-year-old shouldn't have too much concern for being snubbed year.

Lillard is putting up another All-Star worthy campaign averaging 25.0 points on 42.8 percent shooting from the field and 34.9 percent from beyond the arc with 6.5 assists and 4.8 rebounds per game. He is currently the ninth leading scorer in the NBA while notching 11 games with at least 30 points. Lillard is one of four players this season averaging 25.0 points, 6.0 assists, and 4.0 rebounds per contest alongside Stephen Curry, LeBron James, and James Harden.

He has been a consistent source of offensive production scoring in double figures in each of his 38 appearances this season that include reaching more than 20 points 27 times. His production alongside CJ McCollum has helped keep the Trail Blazers in the playoff picture hovering around the final few positions at this point of the season. In fact, this has been the case over the last couple of seasons that also saw him miss the cut for the All-Star Game.

Although he is playing at an elite level, the Western Conference has become quite stacked with premier guard play with the likes of Curry, Harden, Russell Westbrook, Chris Paul, Klay Thompson, Jimmy Butler, and Eric Gordon. All of this typically leaves Lillard out of the shuffle because of the abundance of backcourt talent in the conference.

Lillard has been able to reach the All-Star Game twice in his career, but his last appearance was back in 2015. This has led to him to come become accustomed to being left out of the picture despite having the talent worthy of being an All-Star annually. Lillard will ultimately know his fate in the coming days when the reserves for each conference are announced.
