Despite falling to the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals, the Portland Trail Blazers and head coach Terry Stotts encountered quite the memorable season in 2018-19.

After finishing with the third-best record in the West, Stotts and Co. battled their way to the franchise's first conference finals appearance since 2000. They beat the Oklahoma City Thunder and second-seeded Denver Nuggets, further proving themselves as legitimate contenders.

With quite the surprising season they had, the Blazers rewarded Stotts a contract extension, and the 61-year-old coach couldn't be happier.

“I’m pleased we came to an agreement,” Stotts said, per Kerry Eggers of the Portland Tribune. “I’m very happy here. This was probably the most enjoyable year as a head coach. We’ve gone through peaks and valleys over my tenure. This is another peak.”

The team has a solid core with Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum at the heart of it. While their West Finals sweep is embarrassing, the team can only learn from there. After all, they haven't made it past the first round in the last two postseason prior to their most recent campaign.

With Stotts remaining at the helm, the team can continue from building on what they have accomplished this year and return better than ever come the 2019-20 season.
