Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard is not only one of the league's brightest stars at the point guard position, but he is also an all-around great guy who is one of the most likable players in the NBA.

Apparently, the image Lillard projects in public is the same image he projects behind closed doors.

Blazers head coach Terry Stotts said he feels his All-Star floor general is not only a great talent, but also one of the best leaders the game has to offer:

“I think Damian might be the best star leader in the league,” Stotts said, according to Royce Young of ESPN. “There are leaders in this league, but being a star and a leader the way he conducts himself around his teammates, on the basketball court, in the locker room, in the community, he's the same guy every day.”

That's certainly great to hear, and it's not really a surprise at this point.

Lillard is coming off a terrific performance in the Blazers' Game 1 first-round playoff series win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday, as he finished with 30 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals, burying five 3-pointers in the victory.

On the season overall, the 28-year-old averaged 25.8 points, 6.9 assists, 4.8 rebounds and 1.1 steals over 35.5 minutes per game while shooting 44.4 percent from the floor, 36.9 percent from 3-point range and 91.2 percent from the free-throw line en route to making his fourth All-Star appearance.

Lillard, who played his collegiate basketball at Weber State, was originally selected by Portland with the sixth overall pick of the 2012 NBA Draft.
