The Portland Trail Blazers recently introduced one of their newest players, Pau Gasol via conference call to the media. But as he was discussing some of the things that he believes he can contribute to the team, there was another person on the line. No one knew who it was or why he or she is there.

The person didn't talk, but people who were listening to Gasol's conference call could hear a lot of heavy breathing.

The anonymous person didn't seem to be in danger despite multiple deep breaths heard during the call. It was seen by the Blazers' PR as just some sort of line interruption. Overall, Gasol's introductory press con went well.

No one can tell if it was a prank, or if the person actually knew that he was interrupting a conference call from an NBA player. But if the person realizes what happened, maybe he or she will just laugh it out and move on.

Sometimes, weird things happen in the NBA.

Anyway, Gasol will enter a new chapter of his career with the Blazers. He said he's excited to mentor the young guys on the team and be able to help them to the best of his abilities. If he can play a full season without suffering any injury, then he can definitely play a key role for Portland's playoff run.

When healthy, Pau can still put up a double-double on a nightly basis, and the Blazers will need him to do just that while they're waiting for the return of Jusuf Nurkic.
