The Portland Trail Blazers don't have too many options to look at in free agency, but one of the things they're expected to do is sign center Jusuf Nurkic to a long-term deal.

Nurkic, the Bosnian center who just wrapped up his fourth NBA season, finished his first full season with the Blazers averaging 14.3 points, 9.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.4 blocks per game. It was a a successful season for him, but the Blazers were ultimately swept by the New Orleans Pelicans in the first round of the NBA playoffs.

This summer, Nurkic was expected to play for his national team, but only after he signed his new deal so that he didn't risk injury.

It's unclear if there's a mistake or misunderstanding in the translation, but according to Sportske, who spoke to Bosnia and Herzegovina's national team director, Siniša Kovačević, Nurkic already has an offer on the table that he'll be signing (or agreeing to) on July 1st.

“We already knew that he will not play in June and July because there is no signed contract in the NBA league. He has everything agreed, but he does not have it on paper, so he does not have insurance. All this will be resolved on July 1 when he signs the contract, which is too late to be made available to the selector. It's a practice when all European players are in question,” Sinisa Kovačević told ‘Mondo'.

On top of that, the closing of the Sportske piece says that Nurkic will have a new team next season.

Nurkic has a great season in the Portland jersey, but his contract has expired and will probably get a new club in the NBA league during the summer.

Again, it's unclear if there was any sort of mistake in the translation, but this article makes it seem as if Nurkic could be leaving Portland. Stay tuned for the latest.
