As the trade deadline approaches, many NBA teams will try to add pieces to their unit to compete for a postseason spot this year. One of those teams are the Portland Trailblazers, who are currently fighting for playoff positioning.

If the Blazers want to make the most of this year's trade deadline, they will have to obviously give up some of their own pieces. In an article by Jason Quick for NBC Sports, Ed Davis understands that nature of the business and he is prepared in the event that he's shipped out of Portland.

“I talked about it with my lady last night,’’ Davis said. “There’s a good chance that something could happen. We have to be prepared for it. We have 15 guys on team, and I think a good 11 of the guys are like, man, I could be moved,’’ Davis said. “It’s human nature. “Honestly, I can feel it. When I do well, I know the reaction I get from teammates and it’s genuine,’’ Davis said. “I know how it can be. I played on teams where there were guys I just didn’t like as a person. Even when they did well, I wasn’t really happy for them, because I just didn’t like them as a person. Could be because how they treated people or how they carried themselves. For me, on this team when I play well, everybody from the coaches down to last person on roster is happy for me. That means a lot.”

Davis is currently averaging 5.4 points and 7.0 rebounds per game for the Blazers this season. While his numbers don't particularly stand out, Davis' reputation as a solid big man and hard worker will definitely have some teams looking.

It's easy to tell, though, that Davis is loving his situation in Portland because of the camaraderie with everyone — from coaches to teammates. However, that ultimately won't help his cause if the front office deems it necessary to include him in a trade.
