Carmelo Anthony of the Portland Trail Blazers continues to pile up the points in his long and storied career, and on Monday night against the Atlanta Hawks, he passed Elvin Hayes for 10th on the all-time scoring list.

The bulk of Carmelo Anthony's prodigious scoring output occurred in his years with the Denver Nuggets, who drafted him in 2003 with the 3rd overall pick behind LeBron James and Darko Milicic, and the New York Knicks, who famously traded for the star after he got fed up with the Nuggets' “treadmill of mediocrity” doldrums.

In Denver, Melo amassed a whopping 13,970 points, which is third on the Nuggets' all-time scoring list behind only notable bucket-getter Alex English and Dan Issel – widely regarded as the two best players in Nuggets history (not named Nikola Jokic, that is).

The Knicks, who have a far longer and far more storied history than the Nuggets, also employed Anthony for many seasons, and his scoring exploits (10,186 points) rank him 7th on the Knicks' all-time scoring list.

After two ill-fated seasons with the Oklahoma City Thunder and Houston Rockets, Carmelo Anthony languished without a team for a while until the Blazers took a chance on him. That chance has seemingly paid off, especially seeing as Melo has been finally willing to come off the bench in his age-36 season.

That decision seems to be doing wonders for the veteran, too, as he’s shooting a career-high 40.3 percent from three-point territory to go along with a career-high 41.1 percent three-point attempt rate.
