Portland Trail Blazers center Hassan Whiteside didn't quite get the reception he might've wanted when his team traveled to Miami for Sunday's game.

The former Miami Heat big man was the subject of a mixed crowd as he was called in the Blazers' starting lineup in the American Airlines Arena. Although there were clearly some cheers for the seven-footer, the reaction from the Miami crowd seemed to be mostly negative.

After not playing in the league for two seasons between 2012 and 2014, the Heat called up Whiteside from the then NBA D-League. Whiteside immediately made an impact for the Heat averaging 11.8 points, 10.0 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game.

After five seasons with the Heat, the Heat decided to move on from Whiteside trading him to the Blazers in July in a four-team trade, acquiring former Portland center Meyers Leonard.

The former NBA All-Defensive Second Team honoree has found success in his new home putting up 15.7 point, 13.8 rebounds and a league-leading 2.8 blocks per game.

Despite the individual success, Portland has struggled this season posting a 15-21 record through 36 games.
