The Portland Trail Blazers have unveiled their classic edition jerseys for the 2019-20 season.

The jerseys have the exact design as that of their 1977 season — the year when they won their lone NBA title. Blazers legendary sports announcer Bill Schonley and Bill Walton, who was one of the key players of the 1977 championship squad, joined the ceremony.

The Blazers also released a promo video showing the jersey and the inspiration behind it.

The jersey is certainly a great effort by the organization to sprinkle some magic and motivation for the upcoming 2019-20 season. The Blazers are largely considered as one of the top contenders in the ultra-trough Western Conference, having only missed the playoffs twice since the 2008-09 campaign.

Last year, Portland went as far as the West Finals — the first time they did so since the 1999-00 season. Unfortunately, anything short of the NBA title cannot really be considered a success for a team with title aspirations, so all they can do is build and improve from their spectacular run last year. Hopefully, bringing back the old jerseys will inspire the Damian Lilard, CJ McCollum and the Blazers to bring back the good old days when they reigned supreme in the basketball world.
