A new yet unnamed Blizzard Survival Game is currently being worked on by Activision Blizzard.

For the first time in years, Blizzard is making a brand new game outside their glorified franchises. This new entry is set to be a survival game and the studio is now hiring people to work on the game. Blizzard recently posted details on their website about the upcoming survival game. What catches our attention the most is the fact that the game is set in an entirely brand new universe. “A place full of heroes we have yet to meet, stories yet to be told, and adventures yet to be lived.” This is very exciting because for years now Blizzard’s world has been revolving around familiar and established franchises such as the World of Warcraft and Diablo. The upcoming game is set to launch on both PC and consoles.

The Blizzard survival game currently doesn’t have an official title nor a revealed project title. As seen in Blizzard’s Help Wanted Ad, they're still looking to hire a lot of people for this project. This means that the survival game is possibly still in the pre-production phase, and still has a lot of years in the oven.

Given that the new Blizzard survival game might still take several years for development to finish, it’ll be interesting to see how Microsoft will come into play. Microsoft recently acquired Activision Blizzard which will definitely affect the direction and management of each Activision and Blizzard title could change. Xbox Game Studios boss Phil Spencer has already shown interest in some of the company's dormant IPs. Blizzard is currently still in command, however, until Microsoft takes charge of the decision-making when the acquisition gets finalized sometime in June 2023.
