The Baltimore Ravens are paying attention to this developing NFL story: It appears as though Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones has already played his last down as a member of the NFC South franchise. With the rumor mill churning more and more over the course of the last few weeks, Jones pretty much confirmed earlier in the week that he won't be suiting up for the Falcons in 2021-22 as Atlanta has reportedly been gauging the trade market for the superstar pass catcher.

With teams like the Los Angeles Chargers, Tennessee Titans, New England Patriots already seemingly lining up to attempt to haul in the Pro Bowl wide out, the Baltimore Ravens might have as good of a shot as any to ultimately land Jones from the Falcons.

In addition to playing in the AFC, which would be ideal for the Falcons, the Ravens have established a winning culture as of late, something that Jones apparently values quite highly.

Of course, the Ravens also have one of the more dynamic offenses in the entire league, a unit that is led by former NFL MVP and prolific quarterback Lamar Jackson.

With Marquise “Hollywood” Brown and Sammy Watkins already on board in Baltimore, the eventual addition of Jones could put the Ravens over the top as a legitimate threat to the two-time defending AFC champion Kansas City Chiefs.

Because the Falcons have a first-year NFL head coach coming in and presumably a veteran wide receiver on the way out, the Ravens and other teams are aware that Atlanta may play the long game in terms of a return for Jones. Aiding such a notion, it has already been reported that the Falcons would like to receive a future first round NFL Draft pick in exchange for Jones' services — whether or not this ultimately happens is a different story, though.

Nonetheless, the Ravens have some serious NFL Draft capital on tap at the moment as Baltimore currently owns a first round, second round, two third rounders, two fourth rounders and two fifth round picks in 2022.

Additionally, the Ravens own a first, second and third round pick in both 2023 and 2024 as well.

With a team very much in win now mode, the Ravens should be able to afford to give up some future NFL Draft capital in exchange for a veteran player like Jones, who can make an instant impact on an already talented team.

Falcons, Julio Jones Ravens

Due to the fact that the Ravens own multiple third and fourth round picks, perhaps packing a few of those picks together could alleviate the need to give up a future first rounder for Jones in the end.

The Falcons will certainly ask but the Ravens will have a suitable rebuttal to offer up considering the value that often lies in the second, third and fourth rounds of a given NFL Draft.

Even more importantly, if the Ravens don't have to give up any current players in order to bring Jones to Baltimore, the AFC North franchise would no doubt begin the upcoming 2021-22 campaign as the co-favorites to come out of the AFC.
