What a way to open up the MLB season. During the Toronto Blue Jays' Opening Day tilt against the New York Yankees, ESPN aired an interview featuring Blue Jays star Bo Bichette and Karl Ravech.

In the clip, Bichette breaks out the pipes to sing some Justin Bieber to create the perfect mix of awkward and funny:

Let's start with Ravech. It's a tough look to ask if Bichette came up with the lyrics himself only to hear back, “That's actually Justin Bieber's song.” Yikes. Still, can't really blame Karl for that. The move to put Bichette on the spot in the interview and ask him to bust out some lines can be questioned, though. It's a savage move, and what is the Blue Jays star to do other than try to entertain?

On Bichette's end, the No. 1 rule if you're going to sing in a non-traditional environment such as an interview on ESPN: own the moment with confidence. It doesn't matter if it sounds horrible, if you're confident in the delivery others will buy into the act. He went in way too hesitant, and it was evident before he even started to sing that it wasn't going to end well for either side. Awkward moments are often viral gold, though, and this was one of those moments.

Bichette is expected to be a big part of the Blue Jays' future, along with Vladimir Guerrero Jr., George Springer, Cavan Biggio and others. Toronto was aggressive in the offseason to build and put pieces around the young core, and now they get to see how it all fits together starting in 2021.
