The Toronto Blue Jays are reportedly interested in starting pitcher, Kevin Gausman.

It seems as the Blue Jays are going to lose Robbie Ray. Bringing Kevin Gausman in will definitely be more than a serviceable replacement. Toronto did a great job by re-signing Jose Berrios to an extension and they are looking to add some more elite arms.

Gausman was excellent in the 2021 season for the San Francisco Giants. He went 14-6 in 192 innings pitched with 227 strikeouts and a 2.81 ERA. Gausman finished sixth in the Cy Young award voting.

The Blue Jays were one of the better teams in baseball last year despite not making the playoffs. In the Blue Jays defense, it's hard to make the playoffs when you have to deal with the other teams in the AL East such as the Tampa Bay Rays, Boston Red Sox, and the New York Yankees.

Despite playing in the best division in baseball, the Blue Jays were still able to win 91 games and finish just one game behind the Wild Card from both the Red Sox and the Yankees. If they can go out and add a guy like Gausman, they might be able to get over the edge and have a slight advantage over the other top three teams in their division.

Gausman should be getting a lot of attention from every club in the MLB, but it looks like the Blue Jays are heavy on him.
