Former welterweight champion Keith Thurman will be all eyes on the upcoming fight between Errol Spence Jr vs Danny Garcia fight. The 32-year-old claimed that he would want to set up a fight with the winner of the match in 2021.

He also spoke on the outlook of the two fighters before the match on his Instagram account.

“(Garcia’s) the biggest puncher I’ve faced. But if Spence has that ‘Man-Down philosophy,’ he gonna get you outta there,” Thurman wrote on Instagram. “I think it comes down to who lands the biggest punch first, and how Spence looks after the accident.”

“I’ll be watching with great interest on PPV as I want the winner in 2021 and the opportunity to remind the world why Keith ‘One Time’ Thurman is still the top welterweight!”

The Florida native last appeared in the ring back in July 2019 where he suffered a loss against Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao. The defeat eventually tainted his previously unbeaten record where he now holds a 29-1-1 overall tally.

He is currently taking a year-long leave and will sit out the entire 2020 before aiming to return to the ring in 2021. Meanwhile, the match will be pitting Spence who currently has an immaculate 26-0 record in his professional boxing career while Garcia entering the match with a 36-2 win-loss tally.

According to Bad Left Hook, Spence has already expressed that he has no interest to fight Thurman in the future. The results of the upcoming match between Spence and Garcia will see if Thurman will indeed get his wish for a welterweight bout come 2021.
