Jorge Soler is your 2021 World Series MVP, and deservingly so after he led the Atlanta Braves to a dominant 4-2 win over the Houston Astros.

With his MVP win, though, the 29-year-old slugger became just the second Cuban-born player to win World Series MVP. He joined former NLCS MVP and All-Star Livan Hernandez, who won the trophy with the Florida Marlins in 1997.

Jorge Soler wasn't expected to win MVP heading to the World Series. However, he made the most of his opportunities at-bats while leading the Braves to the promised land.

Throughout the series, Soler has stepped up for Atlanta in key moments, with his pinch-hit homer in Game 4 allowing the Braves to take a 3-1 series lead. He showed up once again on Tuesday, opening the scoring with a 446-feet monster of a home run to give the team a 3-0 advantage in Game 6–in which they never looked back.

The Havana, Cuba native finished the World Series with three home runs.  He also also led the Braves in OPS with 1.191 and RBIs with six.

For those not in the know, Soler arrived in Atlanta only last July after a trade deadline deal with the Kansas City Royals. Sure enough, the Braves are feeling genius right now and certainly not regretting that decision after the Cuban slugger proved to be the hero for the team.
