The Braves defeated the Dodgers on the road on Tuesday and snapped LA's winning streak in the process. Both teams had their aces on the mound but it was Atlanta's Max Fried who prevailed over the Dodgers' Walker Buehler in the 3-1 Braves win.

Fried was nothing short of brilliant. The left-hander pitched 7 innings and surrendered just 2 hits while striking out 8 and allowing no runs. He faced the minimum up until the 7th inning and had it rolling just about all game.

Fried, who was born in Santa Monica, CA, discussed what it was like to defeat his hometown Dodgers amidst his recent struggles.

“It was nice to have a good one here, I’ve had some rough ones. Just to get a win, that was my goal today.”

And he put his team in tremendous position to win without question. Max Fried then talked about what was different on Tuesday compared to his previous outings.

“First two outings, I felt like I was throwing the ball pretty well. There just happened to be some balls that didn’t find the gloves. Tonight, we made some really nice plays and the ball found the gloves.”

Braves' manager Brian Snitker was impressed by Fried as well.

“That’s probably as good as I’ve seen him. He’s been good all year. He hasn’t had the results. But his stuff has been good all year. Tonight, he just took it to another level.”

The Braves will aim to build off the momentum after Max Fried out-dueled Walker Buehler and win the rubber match on Wednesday.
