The Atlanta Braves managed to win a World Series in 2021 without star outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr, who went down with a torn ACL last July. But after an impressive rehab stint in the minors, it appears he's ready to return to the big leagues.

On Thursday, the Braves reinstated Acuna Jr from the 10-day injured list:

This is a massive boost for the Braves, who get back one of their best hitters. The team is off to a dismal 8-11 start and could definitely use a boost defensively, hitting just .229 as a group right now.

Acuna Jr played just 82 games in 2021 but he was brilliant, hitting .283 with 24 home runs and 52 RBIs. He also swiped 17 bags. The Venezuelan has been a star ever since he stepped foot in the MLB, slugging a career-high 41 long balls in 2019.

The All-Star went 2 for 5 in triple-A Gwinnett on Wednesday night and the Braves have targeted May 6th as the potential date for his return. He's expected to play another rehab game on Thursday, the first time Acuna will play on consecutive days since the injury. Depending on how that goes, we'll see when he actually suits up again for Atlanta. But, he's certainly not far away from doing so.
