DeMar DeRozan long expressed his wanting to return to Toronto to play for the only team he's played for in his seven-year NBA career in the Toronto Raptors.

“My mindset has always been Toronto,” commented DeRozan. “I've always preached it. I was passionate about it when we were losing, when we were terrible. I said I was going to stick through this whole thing, and I want to be that guy who brings this organization to where it is now. I definitely don't want to switch that up after we win.”

On the morning of July 1st, when teams and players are allowed to begin agreeing on deals, DeRozan and the Raptors agreed on a 5-year, $139 million deal to keep the former USC player in Canada.

DeRozan was highly sought after by the Lakers, Clippers, Warriors, Heat, Knicks and Magic, although the only real option DeRozan seems to have considered was the Toronto.
