With nothing to do other than cutting player salaries, the NBA has randomly decided to implement a 4-point line once the 2019-20 season resumes. NBA commissioner Adam Silver will release the full details shortly in a press conference from his luxury survivalist bunker. The report came from Adrian Wojnarowski's newly revealed twin brother Damien Wojnarowski.

The idea has been debated for a few years now, with many in the league taking a hard stance either for or against the rule change. While those in favor believe it will lead to even more floor-spacing and a more entertaining product overall, traditionalists have balked at the game being morphed into something almost unrecognizable from basketball as we know it. Of course, similar sentiments were expressed when the 3-point line was introduced, with games from the 1970's looking much different than what we watch now.

The players who will benefit the most from the 4-pointer are surely Stephen Curry and Trae Young, who have made threes well behind the line look like a piece of cake for years. It will also add intrigue to Ben Simmons' quest to develop an outside shot; he already crossed the first plateau by hitting a three, but now there's another mountain to climb with the four.

This follows another insane development on April 1st with the league planning to use a little-known bylaw to award this season's NBA championship to the Los Angeles Lakers in the event the remainder of the games and playoffs are cancelled. Of course, that date is relevant because…

April Fool's! During these trying times we hope this gave you a good laugh (until this actually happens… then we totally had sources on the inside).
