On Thursday night, the Indianapolis Colts made a statement by beating the Tennessee Titans 34-17 while featuring an emerging receiver that will impact the AFC playoff picture.

Evan Sidery, the host of the daily Locked On Colts podcast, discussed the emergence of Colts rookie wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. and how he can impact the Indianapolis offense for the rest of the season.

Sidery: Michael Pittman Jr., seven receptions for 101 yards and also an end-around that almost scored for a 21-yard gain. It is nice to see MPJ finally breaking out in year two which tonight, it seemed like MPJ and Nyheim Hines were the best two players on the field after Derrick Henry, which really shows you something with the way of this Colts team gets those playmakers in space and Pittman really coming on right now over the last two weeks and that really bodes well for this season because if Pittman gets going over the final half of the year, he could really warn himself into a legit number one wide for the Colts team because Rivers is obviously leaning on him. He had 8 targets that lead the team and he’s really getting a rapport with Rivers where Pittman is so reliable. He has great hands, he’s a big body, and he knows how to get open with short routes, intermediate, and deep routes. I really love how they are using Pittman right now and I love how Rivers is starting to feed him more. I think the rest of the way here, I would not be shocked if you see Michael Pittman Jr. become the Colts’ [WR1].
