The Philadelphia 76ers have one of the more intriguing rosters this coming season. They added four rookies to their lineup and are also expecting to see Joel Embiid finally make his NBA debut.

Among the rookies they have, the fans, not just of Philly but the whole league, are arguably most looking forward to seeing this year's 1st overall pick Ben Simmons and talented Croatian center Dario Saric play. The anticipation for Saric has risen dramatically over the past week after showcasing his talent in the Rio Olympics, highlighted by a game-saving block on Pau Gasol.

Being the top pick in this year's draft, it will be a no-brainer to think that Simmons is the more NBA-ready among the two, but if you ask Sixers head coach Brett Brown, he thinks otherwise.

It may come as a surprise why the 55-year-old bench tactician thinks so, but if you ask him, he reasons that the combination of Saric's age and playing experience will make it easier for the coaching staff to work with him and make him adjust to the style of play the league demands.

Brown recently guested on The Broadcast, and had this to say while speaking to Bian Seltzer:

“He’s [Dario Saric] really gifted intellectually, on how to play our spot. I feel like, although his birth certificate, you know, would admit to everybody that he’s still very young, his basketball experience is very old. You know, playing in Euroleague, playing in the professional league in Turkey, representing his country, those are all just high level basketball experiences, far different than say, what Ben [Simmons] experienced in a limited time at LSU. And you watch him, and I think he plays beyond his years.”

“He really looks like he’s starting to have more of a complete package to his game, I’m personally just very, very excited to coach Dario Saric.”

Simmons is definitely the more athletic one but the 2016-2017 season will be his first as a professional and only has one year of NCAA experience to show, but given his rare combination of height, ball handling, and passing skills, it will hard to imagine him not doing well in the NBA. As for Saric, his versatility as a post defender with reliable shot blocking while having a decent perimeter jumper on offense makes him a difficult matchup for opposing teams.

It will definitely worth monitoring how things will unfold with the Sixers this year. But given the talent they have acquired over the course of the summer, things are certainly looking good for them and they have a huge chance of ending with a better regular season record than what they had the previous years.
