The Denver Broncos defense is going to look somewhat different in 2019. Safety, Darian Stewart was cut by the Broncos this offseason but his replacement could already be on the roster.

After Stewart was released from the team, Will Parks decided to make a phone call to Stewart where he gave Parks some advice.

Parks said that Stewart told him “It's your time” after being released, according to the Denver Post.

For the past four seasons, Stewart has started at safety for the Broncos. In those four years, the former Denver safety had nine interceptions, 199 tackles, and 24 pass deflections.

In 2016, the Broncos drafted Parks in the sixth round at the 219th overall selection. Since then, Parks has been a backup safety who has been moved around in the secondary.

Although, when Parks has made it onto the field, he's been a difference maker. The young safety has three interceptions, 69 tackles, and 11 pass deflections.

Those aren't jaw-dropping stats but he hasn't gotten much time to consistently stay on the field yet. As a result of Stewart no longer being with the team, Parks will likely get a decent chance to attain the starting job in 2019.

The Broncos have let go of Brandon Marshall (the linebacker one), Stewart, and Bradley Roby this offseason. They also brought in Kareem Jackson and Bryce Callahan to improve their secondary.

The defense is going to look different this upcoming season with a few new faces on the defense.

One of them could be Parks—who is ready to put into the work to seize the starting safety position for the Broncos.
