The Denver Broncos remain winless heading into Week 5 of the 2019 NFL season. Unfortunately, they were dealt an even bigger blow after it was revealed that linebacker Bradley Chubb suffered a partially torn ACL and has been ruled out the rest of the year.

Dealing with such a severe injury so early in his career is certainly not an ideal situation for Chubb. According to Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk, he vows to come back even better next season:

“It sucks right now but it’s going to make me a better person, so I’m looking forward to the journey,” Chubb said today. “Just because I’m sidelined with an injury doesn’t mean I can’t be Bradley Chubb. My thing is to take as much positive from this situation as I can and just move forward.”

It is certainly encouraging to see that Chubb is taking an optimistic approach to dealing with the injury. He had finally started to find his footing with his first sack of the year against the Jacksonville Jaguars before his season was cut short.

Fortunately, Chubb will have more than enough time to return to 100 percent by the time the offseason rolls around. Despite the slow start to the year, he still managed to show his promise by recording 12.0 sacks as a rookie.

Chubb's injury leaves a rather notable void in the Broncos' defense. It is no secret that their pass rush has largely underwhelmed this season.

The onus will now fall on linebackers Von Miller, Malik Reed, and Justin Hollins to help pick up the slack.
