Bradley Chubb may have gone No. 5 to the Denver Broncos in the 2018 NFL Draft, but the pass rusher is now No. 1 out of that top five to actually sign his rookie deal.

According to Mike Klis of KUSA, Chubb is finalizing his contract with the team on Thursday. Klis adds that the four-year deal (with a fifth-year option) is likely to be worth $27.27 million with a $17.914 million signing bonus.

The Broncos have since officially announced the Chubb signing over Twitter and their official website.

Chubb was the consensus top-ranked pass rusher in the draft class after a dominant college career with NC State. He had 25 sacks and 54.5 tackles for loss in four seasons. He had the potential to go even higher in the draft, but he fell to the Broncos after the Browns picked cornerback Denzel Ward at No. 4.

Chubb is now set to join Von Miller and Shaquil Barrett in the Broncos’ pass rush rotation. He could have a bigger role than expected if Shane Ray misses time with his wrist injury. However, he should play some part this season and is expected to have a prominent role in the franchise over the coming years. Miller has already offered to become Chubb’s mentor on the team.

After Chubb signs his deal, only running back Royce Freeman, the team's third-round pick, will remain as the only Broncos draft pick without a rookie contract. And league-wide, only 20 rookies remain unsigned, including the four players picked ahead of ChubbBaker Mayfield, Saquon Barkley, Sam Darnold, and Ward.
