Numerous teams were quite active over the course of this year’s NFL free agency period, including the Denver Broncos.

Overall, Broncos general manager George Paton was aggressive in simply looking to bolster his team’s depth on the defensive side of the ball. He revamped the Broncos’ front seven unit with free agency signings such as Randy Gregory and D.J. Jones. He also used three of the team’s first four selections in the 2022 NFL Draft on defensive players.

From Broncos outside linebacker Bradley Chubb’s perspective, he approves of the behind-the-scenes moves that Paton completed in March to retool the defense. More so, as he told Denver7’s Troy Renck, Chubb sees that the Broncos defense will be a group to watch in the coming season.

“We have a chance to be special with the guys we have coming back,” Chubb said, “and the new guys we added.”

Success for Denver on the defensive side of the ball over the upcoming campaign will also hinge on whether Chubb will emerge as an X-factor for the group. He is coming off of a 2021 season where he ended up missing a total of 10 games due to ankle and shoulder injuries.

For the veteran pass rusher, he is looking to orchestrate a bounce-back year.

“You have the mindset that, ‘I am good and I am just going to attack everyday like it's my last,' and that’s what I have been doing this offseason, and it’s been working out for me,” Chubb said.

“The dam has to break at some point. I feel like things have been building up and building up and it’s finally time to let it all out.”

Chubb will next get an opportunity to build chemistry with the Broncos’ newest additions on defense later this month at the start of their training camp schedule.
