The Denver Broncos defense hasn't been as advertised in the first three weeks of the season, but one of their key offseason additions still hasn't taken a snap on defense. After missing the first three games, Bryce Callahan is expected to miss another month.

During the free agency period, Denver decided to sign Callahan to bolster their secondary. Callahan was coming into a familiar defensive scheme with Vic Fangio becoming the head coach of the Broncos. Fangio spent the past four seasons as the Chicago Bears defensive coordinator, where he and Callahan spent time together.

As for Callahan's injury, the nickel cornerback broke his foot in 2018 and missed the last few games of the season with the Bears. Then, after returning to the field in training camp, the cornerback had his foot stepped on.

Since then, Callahan has been sidelined with the same foot injury. Now, the talented defensive back will undergo a non-surgical procedure on his foot. By doing so, the Broncos will be without his services for the next four weeks.

While Callahan has been injured, Isaac Yiadom has joined Chris Harris Jr. and Kareem Jackson in the secondary. Unfortunately, Yiadom hasn't exactly been a viable replacement for Callahan in Fangio's defense.

In three games this season, Yiadom has been targeted 15 times and has allowed 13 receptions. Due to his poor play on the field, PFF has awarded the second-year cornerback a 48.5 overall grade this season.

Over the next month, the Broncos will face the Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Chargers, Tennessee Titans, and the Kansas City Chiefs. It's safe to say they will thoroughly miss Callahan in their defense in the next four games.
