The Denver Broncos are likely going to be without Von Miller for the 2020 season and they are searching for possible replacements. According to Mike Klis of 9News, the Broncos contacted Cameron Wake to possibly replace Miller this season.

It's important to note that neither side could agree to terms and Wake remains a free agent. That isn't to say that both sides can't speak again and finalize a deal that would give Denver a veteran presence to replace Miller.

Earlier this week, Miller suffered a ‘freak ankle injury' during practice and was unable to put any weight on his leg. After undergoing an MRI, it was discovered that Miller sustained an injury to a tendon on his ankle. As a result, he would require surgery, and his timetable to return was given a minimum of three months.

Following Miller's injury, the Broncos are left with Jeremiah Attaochu and Malik Reed to fill in for Miller. Not to mention, Bradley Chubb still isn't 100 percent from his torn ACL from last season. Given that, it shouldn't come as a surprise that the Broncos are looking for some depth off of the edge.

Last season, Wake signed with the Tennessee Titans after 10 successful seasons with the Miami Dolphins. Despite the change of scenery, Wake would finish with a career-worst 2.5 sacks and two tackles for loss. In his defense, he never seemed to fit Tennessee's defensive scheme.

Besides Wake, the Broncos also expressed interest in veteran Clay Matthews, who also turned them down. In light of that, either Denver isn't willing to pay a certain price to replace Miller, or both Wake and Matthews are seeking other offers.
