When the Denver Broncos hired head coach Vic Fangio, they were hoping he would elevate the play of the team's defense. After the team's win over the Tennessee Titans, cornerback Chris Harris believes that is finally happening.

In Week 5 against the Los Angeles Chargers, the Broncos defense forced three turnovers and allowed only 246 yards. Their strong play carried over into their Week 6 matchup with the Titans.

The Broncos only allowed the Titans to record 204 yards and didn't give up any points. A big reason for that was the way Harris played as he intercepted a pass and forced a fumble. He thinks that going forward, this will be the new norm for the defense.

“We were very pumped,” Harris said, via the team’s website. “We wanted a shutout. We were going for the shutout last weekend, but we unfortunately weren’t able to get that one. We were close though. We know defensively we’re getting better. We’re starting to click at the right time.”

Even with the shutout, defensive lineman Derek Wolfe saw some plays they could have improved on to make the beatdown even more impressive.

“We can even be better than that,” defensive lineman Derek Wolfe said. “… A goose egg is great; the ultimate goal is to not let them score a point. But we gave up some random plays that we shouldn’t have gave up. We could’ve shut them down even more.”

The Broncos have a short turnaround having to play against a Kansas City Chiefs team that will be hungry for a victory on Thursday night. That matchup should provide the Broncos' defense with a strong indication of their effectiveness.
