Although Denver Broncos cornerback Chris Harris wasn't around the team much of the offseason while dealing with a contract dispute, he thinks he is a perfect fit for the defense.

New head coach Vic Fangio has been implementing the defense all offseason and Harris made sure to work hard to learn it while he was on the field after signing a new contract this spring.

Harris made an appearance on the Jim Rome show and talked about why he thinks he is a perfect cornerback for the scheme.

“It’s the perfect defense for a corner, especially for me,” Harris said during an appearance on The Jim Rome Show. “I can blitz, I get to do everything that I’ve been doing and more. He has the right scheme to get his DBs lots of interceptions, like we’ve seen with the Bears. I think they had almost 30 interceptions last year as a defense. In this system, I definitely feel like everybody’s got a chance to get their interceptions up.”

Last season Harris finished the season with three interceptions and one of those was returned for a touchdown. in his career, he has picked off 19 passes returning four of them for touchdowns.

Harris seems excited about the defensive system and with his talk, it wouldn't be a surprise to see his interception numbers go way up.

For the Broncos this season how they will take a step forward is with Joe Flacco and the offense. The defense has been strong the last few years but the offense has let them down.
