After winning the Super Bowl in 2016 the Denver Broncos have struggled the last couple of years to win football games and Chris Harris, who was apart of the Super Bowl winning squad thinks it's because the team hasn't evolved.

Speaking with reporters on Monday Harris said that as other teams around the league have evolved and improved the Broncos have stayed stagnant and the rest of the league has passed them by.

“I think, after the Super Bowl, we just kind of got stagnant. We haven’t evolved,” Harris said via The Denver Post. “So we’ve got to figure out how we can evolve on offense, defense, special teams, everything … In terms of the NFL, we’re behind right now.

“We’ve got to just get with the times … we kind of just stayed doing the same thing we’ve been doing since 2015. It’s 2019 now — I mean (Tuesday). So we’ve got evolve, man. We can’t do the same things. I have to evolve my game. I can’t think I’m still going to play the same coverage (how) I played in 2015 or 2013. I have to evolve my game. And we have to evolve, too.”

Harris knows how important hiring the right coach is this offseason, especially with all the talent in the division. Harris said he prefers a coach who has some experience coaching and someone that can help the team catch up quick to compete with the likes of Patrick Mahomes and Phillip Rivers.

It's unclear who exactly who will take over for the Broncos but Harris has made his requests pretty clear.
