The Denver Broncos selected Noah Fant with their first-round pick. As a result, the Broncos could make history in their game against the Detroit Lions in Week 16.

The Detroit Lions decided to draft T.J. Hockenson with the eighth overall pick in this year's draft. That means that two tight ends from the same team in college (Iowa) were drafted in the first round.

If both players are healthy when the Lions and Broncos face each other in Week 16, it will be a historic game in a multitude of ways. It would be the first time in NFL History that two tight ends from the same school were drafted in the same year, both taken in the first round, and both were taken in the top 20, square off against each other.

The Broncos game in Week 16 could be played on Saturday depending on where both teams are at in the season. It'd be cool to see history unfold, even it isn't the most exciting thing to happen in football.

Both Fant and Hockenson were the top two tight ends leading into the draft. Some had Fant falling out of the first round but his talent warranted being a first round pick.

At Iowa, both guys were able to showcase their unique talents at the tight end position. Over two seasons with Iowa, Hockenson caught 73 passes for 1,080 yards and nine touchdowns.

Likewise, Fant managed to get 78 receptions, 1,083 yards, and 19 touchdowns. Hockenson was regarded as the better tight end because of his blocking ability.

The two Iowa products won't have to wait long to be on the same field again—but this time it would be on different teams.
