The Denver Broncos came up short against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 3 of the preseason. Unfortunately, it appears they were unable to make it out unscathed as well.

Fant was sidelined with a foot injury after being tackled following a reception in the first quarter. According to Aric DiLalla of the team's official website, head coach Vis Fangio is not concerned about the severity of the injury.

Head Coach Vic Fangio said he thinks both Lock and Noah Fant (foot) suffered injuries that are “mild in nature.”

This is certainly an encouraging update for the Broncos since Fant's injury is not deemed to be too serious. Regardless, Fangio's comments indicate that he could be looking to take a cautious approach to some of his key players' injuries for the final preseason game.

The Broncos have had some trouble with their tight ends staying healthy through training camp and the preseason. Aside from Fant, tight ends Jeff Heuerman and Jake Butt have also missed some time with injuries lately.

Denver made quite the investment when they took Fant with the 20th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. Fortunately, Fant has done a solid job of solidifying his first-round status with a strong performance this offseason. Their primary concern at this point should be ensuring his health for the start of the 2019 NFL season.

With all the changes the Broncos ushered in this offseason, the rookie could have an opportunity to make an immediate impact as a safety net for quarterback Joe Flacco.
