The Denver Broncos are interviewing Mike Shula for their open quarterbacks' coach position, according to Ryan O'Halloran of the Denver Post.

Shula has spent the last two years working with Pat Shurmur with the New York Giants, so it makes sense that Shula could follow him to Denver.

Shurmur was recently hired as the Broncos offensive coordinator, and whoever is hired to be the quarterbacks' coach has a big job helping develop Drew Lock. There was some concern from fans after the team decided to let Rich Scangarello go. General manager John Elway understood the fans concerns but thinks Shurmur is the best guy to lead this team as offensive coordinator going forward.

“Everybody says, ‘Continuity,’” Elway said, via Ryan O'Halloran of The Denver Post. “But continuity is only good if it’s good continuity. We feel good about (Shurmur’s hiring) and it might be something in place for a while.”

Shurmur and Shula were let go by the Giants, even though they both did good work with Daniel Jones. There is no doubt that Jones had some struggles as a rookie, but he also had a lot of success, and the future looks bright for the former sixth overall pick.

Drew Lock only started a handful of games during the 2019 season, but he showed some flashes. He completed 64.1 percent of his passes 1,020 yards, seven touchdowns, and three interceptions.

Shurmur and Shula have done good work with quarterbacks together so it would make sense for the Broncos to keep the guys together going forward.
